FACE is registered with the education department in each state, which requires that FACE meet reciprocity requirements. The number of outbound exchange students must equal the number of inbound exchange students over a given period. FACE offers scholarships and partial scholarships to outbound Australian students whose high school is willing to accept an inbound Japanese student in the same year.
In my capacity as ‘International student co-ordinator’, I have worked with FACE for the past 9 years and have found the organization to be reliable and efficient in their dealings with Japanese and Australian students, parents and host parents. Their knowledge of cross-cultural issues is invaluable to the success of both inbound and outbound programs. Our school has gained an immense amount of valuable cultural understanding and increased language skills, while enjoying a very smooth relationship with FACE.
