Support

FACE contacts the school on a regular basis to check on the academic and social progress of the student and to discuss any cross-cultural or behaviour issues that need to be resolved. FACE will work with the school to correct any problems, and liaise with YESI Japan and the Japanese parents on behalf of the school.

Similarly FACE keeps in touch with the student and host family, weekly during the first month and monthly thereafter. If the host family and/or student is experiencing difficulties, contact will be increased. The aim of this regular contact is to give both host family and student a chance to discuss any concerns they may have. We hope to be supportive rather than intrusive. FACE staff have all lived and worked in Japan for a number of years and have a good understanding of the Japanese language and culture and the difficulties of living overseas. FACE welcomes calls from teachers, host families and students at any time.
