Schedule 2010

The outbound program takes place during the Australian academic year, causing the least possible disruption to Australian studies. Students arrive in Tokyo in late February/early March for a four-week intensive Japanese course. At the beginning of the Japanese school year in April students attend high school until the completion of the program in late December.

3 Jul 2009	Application	Preliminary application forms due.
31 Jul 2009	Application	Full application forms due.

Aug/Sept 09	Selection	Interviews are held during August & September.
2 Oct 2009		Letters offering a place are sent out.
16 Oct 2009		Acceptance and deposit due.

16 Nov 2009	Preparation	Full payments due.
Dec/Jan		FACE prepares visa, insurance and flights
		YESI prepares host school and host families

26 Feb 2010	Orientation Departure	Domestic transfers to Sydney. Orientation. Depart Sydney as a group with FACE staff member.
27 Feb 2010	Orientation Departure	Arrive Tokyo. Arrival orientation at YESI office. Transfer to host families. The adventure begins.

1 Mar –26 Mar 2010	Study Japanese	Attend Japanese language school with FACE group (4 weeks)

5 April 2010	High School	Commence Japanese High School (9 months)
18 Dec 2010		Speech day at YESI
19 Dec 2010		Return to Australia in time for Christmas
