On-going support is provided by YESI counsellors, all of whom are bilingual and have experience of living in another culture. YESI will periodically contact you to monitor your progress, but as is the Japanese way, will not contact you as regularly as we contact Japanese students in Australia as they are concerned that schools and host families will feel they are being intrusive and do not trust them. Students are encouraged to contact the counsellors as often as is necessary to address questions or concerns and to ask for advice. A second tier of support is available through a counsellor appointed within the school. FACE staff are also available to respond to queries from parents throughout the year.
